I just finished watching Dexter Season 4 on DVD, and already I can't wait to watch the next season. Unfortunately Dexter Season 5 will only be aired starting September 2010. A few additions to the cast, most notably Julia Stiles will surely enliven the show.

Showtime has renewed Dexter for a fifth season, which is set to premiere September 26, 2010. Julia Stiles will guest star in 10 episodes as a new woman in Dexter's life. Shawn Hatosy will appear in a multiple episode arc as a "bad guy". Maria Doyle Kennedy will also join the cast of Dexter in Season 5 as an Irish nanny. April Lee Hernandez has been called for a recurring role as a police officer. Jonny Lee Miller has been added to the cast, and will have something to do with Julia Stiles' character. Also Peter Weller will join the cast and he will be playing "a troubled Miami Metro police officer who gets caught up in an internal affairs investigation." The actor will appear in eight of the twelve episodes.

It's President Obama's birthday today, August 4, 2010. The first black President of the United States turns 49 today and I wonder what the creators of the Obama Deception has in store? Tsk.. Anyhoo, looks like the President will be celebrating his birthday sans the First Lady Michelle Obama who has gone to spain with daughter Sasha, while the other first daughter, Malia is in summer camp.

I don't know what the deal is, but I think that's just wrong. Sure President Obama can still celebrate his birthday with close friends and relatives but nothing beats having your wife and daughters around you as you reminisce about the year that's gone by.

Oh well, I guess the President is not the melodramatic type.

Lodewicus Theodorus "Louis" Oosthuizen (born 19 October 1982) is a South African professional golfer, who won the 2010 Open Championship.

Oosthuizen was born in Mossel Bay, South Africa. His early career was supported financially for three years by the foundation of fellow South African Ernie Els. In 2000 he was a member of the South African team that won the World Amateur Team Championships. He won numerous amateur titles before turning professional in 2002 at the age of 19.

He has won five professional tournaments on the Sunshine Tour, the 2004 Vodacom Origins of Golf Tour event at Arabella, the 2007 Dimension Data Pro-Am and Platinum Classic, and the Telkom PGA Championship twice, in 2007 and 2008. He has featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

In March 2010, he won his first European Tour event at the Open de Andalucia de Golf. He also won the 2010 Masters Par 3 Contest. In his first two rounds at the 2010 Open Championship, Oosthuizen shot 65 and 67 for a total of 132 to tie the record for the lowest 36-hole score in an Open Championship at St Andrews. His final score was 16 strokes under par, beating Lee Westwood by seven strokes, finishing his four rounds in 272 strokes - the second lowest in St Andrews history. He had missed the cut in seven of his previous eight major championships.

It was said that da Vinci worked on the painting of Lisa Gherardini for four years according to Girgio Vasari, a 16th century painter and the biographer of Leonardo da Vinci.

Now based on scientist's studies of the Mona Lisa, some lights have come out as to the methods that Leonardo da Vinci used in painting the Mona Lisa. Some discoveries include Leonardo da Vinci's usage of Sfumatu, i.e. using 30 layers of paint to get the subtlety that he wants on a painting. The scientist's discovery also reported that da Vinci was always trying out different methods to see which works best. Sometimes he uses manganese oxide like in the Mona Lisa and sometimes copper in other times he also uses glazes.

In a somewhat surprising move, it seems that Melina Kanakaredes will be leaving CSI New York. It's been six years since Melina Kanakaredes joined CSI:NY so her leaving the show would be felt greatly. Some folks were saying that one possible reason for the departure was the supposed paycut she was offered which she rejected. Nevertheless, everything ended in a positive note with the professional Melina having only nice words to say about the show.

It also looks like veteran actress Sela Ward will be replacing Kanakaredes. Sources say that talks are already going on for Sela Ward to replace Kanakaredes in the next season of CSI:NY.
