James Gammon Dies At 70

James Gammon, the character actor that starred in a lot of Sam Shepard plays died Friday, July 16, 2010 due to illness. He had liver and adrenal glands cancer. James Gammon is best known for his portrayal of Lou Brown, manager of the Cleveland Indians in the movie "Major League" which starred Charlie Sheen. Other notable portrayals of James Gammon include parts in "Urban Cowboy," "The Milagro Beanfield War," "Leaving Normal," "Ironweed," "Silverado" and "Cold Mountain."
